Here are some quick ideas: Full court dribbling and passing drills, fast break drills, shooting drills that involve running, transition drills and full court scrimmages.
Plus, your basketball practices should be timed and each drill should run for an exact length. Players should move from one drill to the next without wasting time.
If you do these things…there is no need to run sprints at the end of practice.
If you still feel the need to run the players, I wouldn’t spend more than 5 – 10 minutes on it.
