Relays, races and fun games. by: Joe Waters – webmaster For this age group, I would take the basketball fundamentals you want to teach and then have your players work on them by using relays, races and games/contests.
This will keep it fun and interesting for the basketball players and is an easy way to teach new skills to a young group of players.
For instance, you can use dribbling relay races, partner passing without dropping the ball, dribble tag, etc…
Use your imagination to come up with fun games the kids can play to learn these new basketball skills. Remember fun is the name of the game at that young of an age.
